I, AMIY MORI, have devoted many years to my work as a photographer, film director, and media producer, conceiving and directing features on destinations around the world for major magazines and exclusive credit card membership publications. Through special features published in Japan’s leading magazines, including ELLE, I introduced the countries of the world to Japanese readers, inspiring many to set out and experience them for themselves.

In the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, a deep personal reflection led me to a new calling: to share “a dignified, beautiful Japan with the world.” Drawing on my experience and the relationships I had cultivated, I moved from print to the web and reversed the flow, turning my focus to welcoming travelers from abroad. Today, I journey across Japan day after day, in the hope of inviting the world to discover it.

It is my wish that as many people as possible come to know the allure of Japan, become devoted admirers of it, and ultimately visit in person. To that end, I share these stories with discerning travelers who seek the authentic. And even for those born in Japan, there remain corners of the country yet to be seen, or yet to be truly understood, in every region. Through this blog, it would be my great pleasure to share with you the places, people, cuisine, culture, and more that I have been fortunate enough to encounter.
