About AMIY MORI

Amiy Mori is a photographer known for her many portraits of Hollywood stars and world-renown individuals. Her collaboration with various embassies within Japan, the Tourism Ministry and large corporations has made her a media producer with a wide following. She has also produced columns and specials in women’s magazines and has numerous one-woman shows of her work in department stores such as Prime Temps Ginza. Known as an expert in travel, she also works as an instructor and adviser for high-end restaurant chains, hotels, and Japanese ryokans. In the aftermath of the 2011 disaster that struck northeastern Japan she was hired as the adviser for the Spa Resort Hawaiian in Fukushima. She is well known for her appearances on radio. She is one of Japan’s few multi-faceted artists.
As a movie director she is known for Koikyokusei, released throughout Japan in 2009. For this she was nominated for the Best New Director Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Currently she is working on several projects within Japan and abroad that she has written and is directing.
In 2010 she was to begin working with Dentsu on a project for the regional development project surrounding the Tokyo SkyTree but the disaster that struck in 2011 put this project on hold. She instead began working on airing movies in the Tohoku region of Japan and traveled throughout cities in the region from Ofunato to Iwaki. She was highly recognized for her Christmas Illumination Project for the City of Kesennuma.
She is also known for her regular television appearances in Fukuoka. Starting in 2014, she created a movie for Yamazaki Bread Company, and in 2016 after the Kumamoto Earthquake she this followed with a movie for the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and the Kyushu Tourism Promotion Organization creating a program aimed at foreign tourists called “A City to Encounter Wine”. Her work can also be seen on NET TV’s “FRESH! TV” and “AMIY’S SUMMER FESTIVAL 2017”.
In 2017 she established, JapanSearch Inc. a portal site highlighting Japan’s beauty and refinement and also founded Japan-Search.jp.
In 2018, all international flights on Japan Airlines began showing her “A City to Encounter Wine”, a series she produced and directed with the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
In 2019, one of the cities she worked with was nominated by the Tourism Ministry as a successful model for representing regional redevelopment. In 2020 she was asked the Tourism Ministry to design the logo for Japan for the Japan Sustainable Tourism Standard for Destinations. In June 2020 the selection of her logo was made public.

AMIY MORI

AMIYMORI is the CEO of japan-search.jp. Under the tagline “Sharing the Dignified Beauty of Japan with the World,” AMIYMORI introduces the true essence of Japan to discerning adults around the world who value authenticity, through a diverse range of projects and beautiful visual content.

AMIYMORI is also a film director. In 2009, AMIYMORI made a directorial debut with Days with You (恋極星), which was released in theaters nationwide in Japan, starring Erika Toda and featuring a theme song by Thelma Aoyama. Despite being a first-time director, AMIYMORI displayed an extraordinary visual sensibility and was nominated for the New Director Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Currently, several film projects for which AMIYMORI serves as the original creator, screenwriter, and director are underway both in Japan and overseas.

AMIYMORI originally made a professional debut as a photographer. Talent quickly became evident, and while still in their twenties, AMIYMORI had already photographed portraits of numerous Hollywood stars and prominent figures from a wide range of fields.

Beyond photography, AMIYMORI also worked as a media producer, collaborating with embassies, tourism boards, and corporations from various countries to produce special feature pages for major women’s magazines, credit card membership magazines, and other publications. With a foresight that others could not easily replicate, AMIYMORI helped bring large numbers of Japanese travelers to destinations around the world.

Photographs of Christmas scenes from around the world, which AMIYMORI has continued to take as a lifelong body of work, have attracted many fans. Numerous solo exhibitions have been held at major department stores, including Printemps Ginza, Isetan Shinjuku, and the Tokyu Department Store flagship store.

In addition to commercial photography, AMIYMORI has also been active in writing and public speaking, has worked as a radio personality, and once had a regular role on a late-night television program offering advice to entertainers.

Today, AMIYMORI continues to work internationally across a broad range of fields, drawing on this multidisciplinary talent and experience. As an expert in travel, AMIYMORI has also served as an advisor and lecturer for major restaurant chains, ryokan, hotels, and other companies, drawing on extensive experience accumulated over the years.

Following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, AMIYMORI organized and led the volunteer organization “Tohoku Support Film Screening Volunteer” for several years. AMIYMORI also planned and produced the “Kesennuma Christmas Illumination,” an initiative that illuminated the heavily damaged Kesennuma Bay area with Christmas lights. The project was subsequently taken over by the local community and continues to this day.

Immediately after the disaster, AMIYMORI also served as a media advisor to Spa Resort Hawaiians in Fukushima Prefecture, supporting its recovery efforts.

AMIYMORI’s wide-ranging talents have extended beyond conventional professional boundaries. In 2010, in a project involving the development of facilities near Tokyo Skytree, AMIYMORI won a competitive proposal process against Dentsu and other competing firms and was appointed overall producer for regional development, including responsibility for design. However, due in part to the impact of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami and other circumstances, the project did not proceed to a final contract.

In 2020, at the request of the Japan Tourism Agency, AMIYMORI designed Japan’s national logo for “Sustainable Tourism.”

In 2021, AMIYMORI was appointed to the executive committee of the Ministry of the Environment’s Good Life Award (Minister of the Environment Award). The “Compassion for the Earth and People Award,” which could be described as the AMIYMORI Award, was also established.

AMIYMORI also holds a GSTC credential, a globally recognized standard in sustainable tourism, and is one of the relatively few holders of this credential in Japan.

Beginning in 2027, AMIYMORI will produce “Premium Private TIME in Japan,” a new initiative designed to connect luxury travelers from Japan and around the world with Japan’s regional cities and destinations.

The project will offer truly exceptional journeys through Japan—special experiences that are sure to inspire even Japanese travelers themselves. Examples include privately chartered cruises through the Seto Inland Sea aboard superyachts comparable in size to small passenger vessels, with island-hopping itineraries; exclusive experiences at shrines, temples, and other cultural sites throughout Japan that are normally unavailable for private use; and unique programs created in collaboration with top chefs, sake breweries, and other local partners.

Through the initiative, AMIYMORI will begin producing connections between the world’s luxury clientele and Japan’s regional communities, while contributing to the revitalization of local economies.
